Canada must urgently accelerate efforts to create clean electricity to meet its climate goals, and faces a bill of up to $1.7 trillion to accomplish the feat according to a Public Policy Forum blueprint for the transition.
A Canadian Climate Institute report says switching to clean electricity will allow Canadians to spend 12 per cent less on energy in 2050 than they do today. It also indicates which provinces will benefit most from government funding.
