Vancouver-based electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions provider and operator Hypercharge Networks Corp. (HC-X) has acquired Eddie from Quebec-based AXSO, bringing both the brand and over 2,700 EV ports into its network.
Effective May 1, the transaction accounts for almost half of Hypercharge’s publicly disclosed port network, elevating it to 5,700 ports. The acquisition makes Hypercharge one of Canada’s largest network operators, it said in the Monday morning announcement.
The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
The company expects to increase its recurring revenue via the acquisition and support its focus on growing its footprint in Canada, particularly Quebec. The province is Canada’s leader in adoption of battery EVs, making up over 50 per cent of sales from 2022 to 2024, according to Canadian government data.
Alongside the charge ports, Hypercharge is folding in the Eddie brand, including customer contracts, certain related intellectual property and other operating assets.
“Québec represents the largest growth region in Canada for Hypercharge and the acquisition of Eddie is a strategic step in expanding Hypercharge’s network and recurring revenue base,” David Bibby, president and CEO of Hypercharge, said.
The acquisition creates a strong foundation for continued growth in Québec, he continued, and represents a step in Hypercharge’s capital deployment strategy aimed at reaching profitability.

Hypercharge, AXSO to prioritize seamless transition
Eddie was launched by AXSO, a Quebec City-based EV software company, in April 2024. Eddie developed an EV energy management system meant to simplify the charging experience in buildings, public spaces and commercial fleets. It also optimizes energy use to minimize the risk of overloading a building’s electrical system and makes charger installations easier, the company says.
The acquisition will let AXSO focus on innovation for EV charging software, while Eddie’s growth can be left to Hypercharge, Alexandre Bérubé, CEO of AXSO, said in the announcement. Hypercharge and AXSO have been partners since 2022, with AXSO providing Hypercharge with software that manages and optimizes EV charging for its users.
To smooth out the transition for Eddie customers and partners, Hypercharge and AXSO have entered into a transition services agreement. AXSO will provide transitional services for a defined period following closing, which are anticipated to maintain continuity across key functions as Hypercharge builds out its Québec market presence.
“We will continue to be opportunistic with capital deployment across North America and disciplined as our priority is profitable growth,” Bibby said.
In its financial reporting for the three- and nine-months ended Dec. 31, 2025, Hypercharge said it sold over 6,900 charging ports in Canada and the U.S. by the end of 2025, an over 38 per cent year-over-year increase. The company also reported having more than 41,300 registered users on its app as of Dec. 31, 2025, an 80 per cent increase year-over-year.
For the nine months ended Dec. 31, 2025, Hypercharge reported revenue of $9.6 million and a net loss of almost $1.3 million. Those results were more favourable compared to the year prior, when it reported revenue of $7.3 million and a net loss of $3.1 million.
